I began practicing yoga when I was living and working in Melbourne. I grew up surfing in the ocean, so when I moved to Melbourne I was a little lost without waves...until I found yoga. It was my spaciousness, my time out, my physical and mental strength work, my city "surfing" in a way!

  • I'm currently deep in Chinese Medicine study at Southern School of Natural Therapies so that in itself is intense training!

Teaching Style

  • Adjustments/Assists: Love giving them and receiving them! We focus on adjustments at the Yoga Casa.
  • Theming: I'd like to think my classes are very healing as I theme and work towards creating balance throughout our systems. Energetically, physically and mentally.
  • Sequencing: Peak Pose.
  • Music: Instrumental.

As a yoga teacher, what inspires and motivates your teaching?

My teachings come from a place of needing and requiring space to heal and rebalance. I believe we live in a society that is so stimulated, or in TCM terms YANG. Yoga provides us the opportunity to balance out all that stimulation by connecting us to YIN.

I'm very inspired by my studies of Chinese Medicine and I think that is very much reflected in my classes. I hope that people walk away with a sense of balance, as well as the odd Chinese Medicine tip on how to stay that way!

How has your own yoga practice evolved since becoming a teacher?

It has slowed right down! My favourite practice is Luna - moon salutations, slow deep flow finished with yin. We teach this at the Casa!

For those of us that haven't practiced with you before, what can we expect from your classes?

Compassion, connection and potentially a good old yoga smashing!

What type of class could you teach all day, everyday and why?

Luna for sure. It gives me the space to offer alignment, the space to gauge peoples experiences and the time to breath. So satisfying! In saying that, I also love teaching Progressive. It's very creative and I love the energy it creates.

Do you practice any other form of movement or fitness besides yoga? If so, what kind?

Surf and walk my doggy!

100% dolphin.
