At Bliss Yoga & Wellbeing, we make yoga inclusive within our beautiful, light-filled space that is friendly, warm and welcoming to those of all skill levels from novice to enlightened.

We respect the tradition of yoga and our teachers use both Sanskrit and English side by side when teaching postures. We educate students on the benefits of the asanas as they practice.

Preparing for Your Class

When You Arrive:

  • Please arrive around 15 minutes before the class commences to ensure sufficient time to check in and settle onto your mat.
  • There is parking available on Station Street, however, please pay attention to time limits. There is all day parking on Arthur Street, behind the studio.
  • We have lockers to store your items and break out areas for you to relax in. Feel free to help yourself to tea in our kitchenette.
  • When making your way to your mat, please enter the space silently and lie or sit down on your mat while you wait for the teacher to begin the class. At the end of the class, please make sure you wipe down your mat with the cloths provided and pack away any equipment that you used.

What to Bring:

  • We have mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps available. It's a great idea to bring a towel and a bottle of water and wear comfortable clothes that are not too baggy to ensure easy flow of motion. We have a shower available with shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided, please just bring a towel.
  • Please ensure you purchase your class, pack or intro online before you arrive as we don't take cash or card in the studio.

Tell us a little bit about how your yoga journey began.

We both have backgrounds in the corporate world, in Marketing and Finance. Whilst neither of us are teachers yet we are both passionate yoga students and saw an opportunity for ourselves to build a wonderful community for like-minded people to escape the rat-race of the everyday.

What inspired you to take the leap and open up your own studio?

We wanted to build something for ourselves that we could be proud of, but we also wanted to build a sanctuary for others to enjoy.

We designed Bliss to be like a day spa for the soul.

Speaking of inspiration, what words do you live by? Name your personal or professional motto.

Manifesting your dreams doesn't mean setting an intention, then sitting back and waiting for your dream appear, it means having a solid vision of your dream, then working diligently to see it come to fruition.

What sort of experience are you looking to cultivate when someone steps foot inside your yoga studio?

We designed Bliss to be like a day spa for the soul. We want people to feel warm, welcome and relaxed when they step into our urban sanctuary.

Describe the kind of music your teachers play during class. What's the music vibe like?

We leave the music up to the discernment of each teacher, we trust their judgement in choosing music that supports their flow.

While we're in the neighbourhood, what local spots should we check out before or after class?

Three Locals (cafe), Harvest (cafe & organic grocer).

Lastly, what are you most proud of when it comes to your studio and/or your community?

We are so proud of the beautiful space that we have created. We love to watch the reactions of new students when they reach the top of the stairs for the first time and take in the space. We are also proud of making the studio inclusive to all, which has resulted in a high percentage of male students. Lastly, we are also very proud of our weekly donation based Community Class, proceeds of which are donated to Headspace.
