Believe it or not, my first yoga experience was in San Francisco back in 2009 when Bikram Yoga was all the rage. The extreme heat, the carpeted floor, the static poses — needless to say it wasn’t my kind of yoga. But fast-forward a couple of years and a handful of Hatha and Ashtanga classes later, I went to my first Vinyasa class. Like many lovers of Vinyasa, the dynamic, fluid, dance-like movement completely got me. It was like a warm welcome home and I’ve been practicing ever since!
That exact feeling is what sparked the idea for Vinny. I completely believe that there is a yoga practice for everyone, it’s just about discovering the kind of yoga that resonates with you. My hope is that Vinny plays a role in helping you find that ideal yoga practice, the one that makes you feel right at home.
Prior to launching Vinny, I spent my days working in the San Francisco startup world for companies like ModCloth and Uber, then shortly after moving to Melbourne in 2015, I worked as a Creative Producer for lululemon. I completed my 200 hour YTT with Yoke Yoga last year and you can find me teaching at their South Melbourne studio every Thursday & Saturday.
I love chatting about yoga just as much as I love practicing it, so if you’d like to connect further or collaborate or just be yoga pals, I’m definitely keen. Bring a croissant and I’m even more keen!
See you on the mat soon,
